‘What I liked best was the range of approaches, and backgrounds that the teachers and mentors had. It reminded me that you get back as much enjoyment and energy as you put in - whether it’s classical, jazz, latin or metal. Seeing other people’s teaching styles is great too. I believe that to be a great teacher you have to find strategies that work with your own personality - you can’t be something you’re not, and children respond best to people who are honest and genuine - but watching other people in action always gives you strategies that you can adopt and adapt.’
Clare, Flute Teacher (In Harmony Newcastle)
